welcome to REDC
Tax Credits / Incentives top Tab

REDC promotes programs designed to stimulate economic activity by granting incentives to companies that would be unable to grow without them. The Economic Advancement Tax Incentives program, or Act 71, induces quality job creation and closes the wage gap between Vermont and the national average. To accomplish these goals, the law was created to make it financially attractive for Vermont business interests to invest in new plants, equipment, employees and product development. VEPC stresses that any public funding is contingent upon whether Vermont taxpayers benefit from the expenditure.

Statewide, between September of 1998 through January 31, 2000, 73 companies and/or municipalities applied for and received tax incentives. Companies that received benefits in Rutland County included GW Plastics, Specialty Filaments, Inc., Hubbardton Forge, Kalow Technologies and the Town of Castleton. To find out what tax credit incentives your business may be eligible to receive, see the VEPC website (www.thinkvermont.com/vepc/index.cfm) or contact REDC for more information.
